Puzzle Chambers is an indie puzzle game that involves mathematical reasoning, pixel art graphics, mysterious locations, overhead perspective, characters like Jason and possibly aliens. It was developed by Entertainment Forge and initially released on December 1, 2017.

Published by GrabTheGames and available for Windows and Mac, Puzzle Chambers has dozens of slightly positive reviews on Steam, at least as of this writing.

Gameplay

Puzzle Chambers is a top-down puzzle game based on a story that involves a lot of mathematical reasoning. The main character, presumably named Freddie, wakes up in an unknown place. Another character, Tim, explains that to move around and find food, they need to solve puzzles. New characters are introduced throughout the narrative, including a group of people who are also trapped in the location, such as Casey and Sarah.

Players can move blocks with their minds, which seems to be a kind of superpower. Additionally, there are other characters with powers, such as foreseeing the future. It is necessary to use empty blocks and mathematical operations to solve the challenges.

The story involves mystery and the need to solve puzzles to survive. There is a constant atmosphere of tension, with threats of decapitation for those who do not solve the puzzles. This is enforced by the “hosts” of the place, who wear white masks and resemble Jason Voorhees. There is an element of danger at all times and the need for collaboration among the characters to survive.
