Battlestar Galactica Deadlock is a turn-based strategy game based on the sci-fi franchise created by Glen A. Larson, the same of Knight Rider, Battlestar Galactica. It was developed by Black Lab Games and initially released on August 31, 2017.
The game takes place during the First Cylon War. You take command of the Colonial Fleet, operating from the mobile shipyard Daidalos, and must build and lead fleets that include the iconic Battlestar itself, as well as the legendary Viper and Raptor squadrons. You’ll face off against enemy forces in single-player, online multiplayer, or co-op battles against the AI.
Published by Slitherine Software and available on Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, Battlestar Galactica Deadlock received generally favorable reviews from critics. Battlestar Galactica Deadlock is a 3D tactical strategy game set during the First Cylon War. It uses the WEGO system of simultaneous turns, where both sides issue orders that are executed at the same time. You take command of the Colonial Fleet from aboard the Daidalos shipyard, managing fleets, promoting officers, and jumping across star systems to defend the Twelve Colonies from the growing Cylon threat.
Gameplay is divided between high-level strategic decisions on the campaign map — such as allocating resources, researching new ship designs, and positioning your fleets — and real-time tactical battles with pause functionality. During combat, players control capital ships like the Manticore and Jupiter classes, issuing detailed orders involving altitude, combat stance, launching Viper and Raptor squadrons, deploying special munitions, and countering cyberattacks from Wardriver hackers and Centurion boarding parties.
The game features full 3D spatial positioning, with verticality affecting performance and weapon accuracy. The battle system includes mechanics such as electronic interference, directional turret control, and morale fluctuations.
