112 Operator is an indie dispatcher simulator that deals with emergency situations in any city around the world, with the main campaign set in Europe, in locations such as Berlin, Istanbul, London, Madrid, Moscow, Paris, Rome, and Warsaw—each with its own unique challenges. It was developed by Jutsu Games and initially released on April 23, 2020.

It is also a direct sequel to Jutsu’s previous simulation game, 911 Operator. Because it focuses primarily on European cities, the emergency number has been changed from North American 911 to European Union 112, but many cities around the world are also included. Buildings are now rendered in 3D, and a new career mode is available, along with many other new or improved features.

Published by Games Operators and available for Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, Switch, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, 112 Operator has received mixed to positive reviews, winning the Best Serious Game award on the Fun&Serious Game Festival 2020. As of this writing, it has thousands of very positive reviews on Steam.

Gameplay

112 Operator is an emergency services management simulator in which the player assumes the role of a call center operator. The main objective is to answer calls, analyze the situations described, and decide whether or not to dispatch emergency units, such as ambulances, patrol cars, or fire trucks, to respond to incidents.

The game offers three main modes: campaign, with missions in eight European cities (Berlin, Istanbul, London, Madrid, Moscow, Paris, Rome, and Warsaw); scenario mode, with recreations of specific events; and free mode, which allows players to play in any city in the world with real geographic data.

As the player progresses, new areas of the city are unlocked, increasing the number of incidents and the complexity of management. Weather conditions influence the progress of operations: storms can compromise the movement of units, while heat waves increase cases of fires and dehydration.

One of the game’s central aspects is managing incoming calls, with the player having to correctly interpret the information provided, identify false calls, and handle sensitive situations such as suicide attempts, medical emergencies, and crimes in progress. Some calls require the player to buy time to locate the victim, provide verbal instructions, or face morally difficult decisions.

In addition to real-time decisions, the game incorporates manager elements, allowing you to invest in units, specialized vehicles, and infrastructure to increase the efficiency of the emergency service. It’s a progression system, with performance-based rewards at the end of each day that become resources that can be used to purchase new units, vehicles with specific attributes (such as greater transport capacity or higher speed), helicopters, and even rescue dogs. Efficient resource management becomes essential, especially on higher difficulties.

Furthermore, there are multi-day narrative events, such as the pursuit of recurring criminals, which add continuity and depth to the experience. 112 Operator also offers informational screens with real-life first aid instructions, covering topics such as signs of a heart attack, hypothermia, and crowd safety.

About the game

112 Operator lets you manage emergency services in any city around the world! Dispatch units, answer calls, and deal with situations caused by weather, traffic, and seasonal changes. Handle tough scenarios and help the city survive escalating events like riots, organized crime, terrorist attacks, cataclysms, natural disasters, and much more — all while becoming a better emergency number operator every day!

Danger has escalated

Help on a scale bigger than ever before. The sequel of the award-winning 911 Operator lets you act on many, completely different levels – from taking care of a single neighborhood to coordinating several operators’ work in the world’s biggest metropolises. Full 3D visualization will give you the inside view of your units’ actions. Choose from over 100 000 areas, such as districts, municipalities, and tens of thousands of real cities from all over the world.

To all units: a storm is coming…

Face the dynamic weather, based on authentic, historical data. Watch the incidents change as day or night comes, traffic increases and seasons pass. Watch out for extreme conditions that may lead to cataclysms and natural disasters. Try to tame big wildfires spreading across the map. Weather isn’t your only problem though – be careful when dealing with terrorist attacks and gang wars.

112, what’s your emergency?

Take calls from people in various situations, needing emergency services’ help. You never know who’s on the other side of the line – you might hear a frightening murder story, maybe you’ll have to instruct someone on performing CPR, or keep your nerves while encountering an annoying prankster.

It’s my job, ma’am…

Choose one of the European cities in completely new Career mode and find out if you’ll manage to climb up to the very top of an operator’s career ladder. Follow the commands of your supervisors and see your actions affecting people you’re in charge of or those who need your help. Sometimes your mistakes will only be followed by a reprimanding e-mail, sometimes they’ll influence your own life.

You can also play special scenarios in any city in the world, or make your own rules in the Free Game mode.

We need backup!

Command the best specialists, using technologically advanced equipment and vehicles. Decide what to use – a SWAT team, Search and Rescue helicopter, or maybe riot gear? When your units arrive at the scene, command them in the tactical view that gives you the full image of the situation.
