Mega R-Type is an excellent fan-made remake of the classic arcade game R-Type, available as a ROM compatible with Everdrive and emulators for the Mega Drive, also known as Genesis!
In Mega R-Type, a 2023 arcade-style shooter developed by TheRoboz, the galaxy is in great danger: evil creatures from the malevolent Bydo Empire have traveled through space to invade and conquer our planet! There is only one hope for victory. The Earth Defense League has chosen you to pilot the R-9, a nuclear-powered space fighter that can destroy invading aliens faster than a lightsaber slices through butter.
Navigate the R-9 through eight exciting levels of high-octane action. Use your plasma weapon to obliterate hordes of nasty creatures and their deadly machines. And when things get really tough, grab Droid units to make your ship even more formidable.
You will face creatures so cruel and ugly they’ll make your hair stand on end. But Earth depends on you. So buckle up in the cockpit, get your fingers on the triggers, and blast them through the skies!
You can get the game here! Remember that you’ll also need a Everdrive or a Genesis emulator to play it. The author recommends BlastEm in the second case.
