Legion TD 2, also known as Legion Tower Defense 2, is an indie tower defense-style game in which two factions compete in separate lanes, deploying auto-fighting units to defeat the opposing king. It was developed by AutoAttack Games and was initially released on November 20, 2017.
The title is a direct sequel to Legion TD, one of the most popular Warcraft III mods, and is set in a medieval fantasy world where magical creatures, warriors, and constructs engage in turn-based tactical combat with a strong emphasis on strategy and resource management. It supports up to 8 players and also features battles against AI opponents.
Published by AutoAttack Games and available for Windows and Mac, Legion TD 2 has received tens of thousands of very positive reviews on Steam—at least as of the time of this writing.

Legion TD 2 is a strategy game with auto-battler mechanics that combines tower defense elements with turn-based tactical confrontations, in which players compete indirectly on separate lanes, each trying to protect their own king while pressuring the opponent with planned attacks.
Each round, players use gold to deploy defensive units that face increasingly stronger waves of AI-controlled enemies. These units fight automatically once the wave begins, in typical auto-battler fashion. At the same time, players can spend mithrium to send offensive units into the enemy\’s lane, aiming to cause a “leak”—when enemies break through their defenses and damage their king.
Gold is earned by defeating hostile units and through a progressive income system influenced by the player’s decisions, such as the number of workers built and the type of units sent. One of the main strategic challenges in Legion TD 2 is balancing investments between defense, economy, and offense.
Units have different damage and armor types, following a rock-paper-scissors logic of strengths and weaknesses. This requires players to carefully analyze both their own composition and their opponent’s to make effective decisions. At the start of each match, players receive a randomized set of available units, promoting variety and replay value.
Legion TD 2 can be played online against other players or against AI-controlled bots. The main modes include 4v4 casual matches and 2v2 ranked matches, with skill-based matchmaking. There is also a solo or co-op campaign designed to introduce players to the game’s core mechanics and challenges.
Although enemy wave patterns are fixed, the combination of economic management, unit randomness, opponent reading, and tactical decision-making ensures that no two matches are the same. On average, a session lasts between 15 and 25 minutes.
