Escape The Maze (ETM): Xmas Edition

Avoid monsters and get out! It's time for union and joy!

Yan’s Productions got into the holiday spirit and brought a curious little gift for those who’ve already gotten lost — or survived — in the original labyrinth: Escape The Maze (ETM): Xmas Edition, a standalone, free campaign that reuses the base of the previous game, but with new stages, an original soundtrack, and a festive visual makeover for the end of the year.

In this Christmas-themed edition, the retro visuals—inspired by the likes of Adventure (1980)—and challenge remains the same: escape rooms filled with hostile creatures where a single touch means restart or losing a life. The difference here is that there are no bosses or long sequences — just one compact world, straight to the point, shorter than the original game.

Alongside the new layouts and redesigned enemies, there are also distinct difficulty modes in this game. In Hard mode, the player has a limited number of lives and can collect extra ones, adding a bit of puzzle strategy to the experience.

Developed with Construct 2, this was the author’s last project made with that engine. A simple yet fun farewell—which happened in 2022—and, as he put it, there are no bosses because “it’s a time for union and joy.”
