Dark Spasm

Dark Spasm is a free indie shooter that takes players back to the golden days of arcade and early 3D action games. Developed and self-published by hijong park, the game mixes influences from classics like Doom, Wolfenstein 3D, Xybots and Berzerk to deliver a fast-paced adventure through colorful, pixelated mazes.

You play as a prisoner on the hostile planet Labyrinet, where deadly robots hunt you down at every turn. Armed with only a small blaster at first, survival means quickly finding stronger weapons, rescuing captured allies, and navigating dangerous labyrinths filled with mechanized enemies.

The game features four episodes:

Episodes 1–3: Hand-crafted levels with old-school design.
Episode 0: An endless survival mode set in procedurally generated mazes. The developer notes these mazes are very simple, so don’t expect a roguelike experience—but rather an extra challenge for arcade fans.
