Gameplay

Scheming Through The Zombie Apocalypse: The Beginning is a dialogue-heavy adventure game with negotiation mechanics. You control Hank, a cynical old rabbit, and his companion Larry, an opportunistic dog. Together, they use persuasion and deception tactics to obtain supplies during a zombie apocalypse.

The player makes decisions through dialogue options that influence NPC interactions, although they do not significantly alter the storyline. The protagonists convince other survivors to gather resources for them, minimizing their own risks. Items such as cigarettes serve as in-game currency. Players can enter buildings to search for supplies while facing potential threats. Some situations involve dice gambling to gain advantages in negotiations.

The protagonists encounter various survivors throughout their journey, including hostile groups and vulnerable characters. Depending on the dialogue choices, NPCs may react in a friendly or aggressive manner. Some interactions lead to comedic and unexpected situations, such as an armed raccoon threatening Hank and Larry.

The game has a humorous and sarcastic tone, with numerous pop culture references, including films like Shaun of the Dead and Night of the Living Dead. The voice acting is well-executed, enhancing the comedic experience. Despite its colorful and cartoony style, the game’s dark humor and frequent use of profanity make it unsuitable for children.

The first episode lasts approximately two hours. Replayability is limited, but players can revisit dialogue choices to explore alternative interactions.
