Road Redemption

Lead a biker gang on an epic journey across the country in this driving combat road rage adventure!

The spiritual successor to Road Rash, Road Redemption, is currently up for grabs, on Windows and Mac — 100% free to keep — in a limited-time Epic Store’s giveaway bonanza! Don’t miss out, as Road Redemption usually costs $19.99!

Road Redemption is a motorcycle racing game that blends arcade-style gameplay with the vehicular combat made famous by the classic Road Rash series, to which it’s widely considered a spiritual successor. It was developed by EQ-Games in collaboration with Pixel Dash Studios and was fully released on October 4, 2017.

Set in a brutal post-apocalyptic world reminiscent of Mad Max, the game pits outlaw biker gangs against each other in high-speed battles where victory means not just racing skill, but also taking down rivals with an arsenal ranging from chains and shotguns to explosives.

Published by Tripwire Interactive, Road Redemption is available for Windows, Mac, Linux, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Android, and iOS. While it received mixed reviews from critics, it holds tens of thousands of “Very Positive” user reviews on Steam — at least as of this post’s publication. In 2020, an official add-on titled Road Redemption: Revengers Assemble was released.

Gameplay

Road Redemption blends the simplicity and fast-paced action of 1990s arcade classics with modern graphics, improved physics, and updated gameplay mechanics. For these reasons, it’s often seen as a true successor to Road Rash, bringing back the thrill of high-speed vehicular combat.

During races, players can use melee weapons like pipes, bats, swords, and machetes, as well as firearms including pistols, shotguns, and rifles. The combat is frantic and demands quick reflexes for attacking, blocking, and maneuvering while jockeying for position on the track.

Beyond the action, the game incorporates strategic progression elements: players earn money by defeating enemies and winning races, which can be spent on upgrades for character stats, equipment, and motorcycle performance. A risk/reward system challenges players to balance aggression and survival.

The campaign follows a roguelike structure, with procedurally generated levels that offer high replayability. Each run presents new routes, challenges, and rewards, requiring constant adaptation.

In local multiplayer, Road Redemption supports up to four players via split-screen — even on PC, which is considered a rarity for the platform. A planned Wii U version was also set to feature asymmetric multiplayer, allowing one player to race using the TV while another played solely on the GamePad screen.

About the game

Road Redemption is an action racing game where you lead your motorcycle gang on an epic journey across the country in a brutal driving combat adventure, taking heavy inspiration from series such as Road Rash and Motorstorm.

Earn money by completing races, assassinations, robberies, and other challenges in your path. As you collect loot, you’ll upgrade your character, your bike, and your weapons.

One Life To Live

Driving a motorcycle at 100 mph while trying to hit someone with a pipe is dangerous, and death can come quickly. Fortunately, every time you die, all the experience you’ve collected can be used to upgrade your character, your bike, and your weapons.

A Truly Epic Quest

Road Redemption takes place in a post-apocalyptic world, ruled by a brutal dictator. Fans of Mad Max will feel right at home here.

After years of bloody street warfare, the country’s biker gangs have settled into an uneasy truce.

This period of peace is interrupted when the leader of the country’s richest weapons cartel is assassinated, and a $15,000,000 bounty is put on the mysterious assassin’s head.

It’s up to you and your fellow gang members to chase down the assassin and claim this prize, but you’ll have to drive through enemy territory to do so. Every biker in the country wants a piece of that $15,000,000 bounty, and they won’t hesitate to take out those who get in their way.
