Easter Avenger is an indie side-scrolling action-platformer with shooting mechanics where an Easter egg sets out on a mission of revenge against an evil version of the Easter Bunny. It was developed by Josepho (Questtracers) and originally released in 2006.
Published by Questtracers itself and made available for free on Windows and Flash, Easter Avenger stands out from the vast majority of games with this theme. Rather than being just another piece of generic shovelware or a forgettable mini-game, it has real personality.
The success of the original led to an expanded version in 2012: Easter Avenger Ex. Released as a web game, this updated edition featured improved graphics, audio, and more polished gameplay while preserving the chaotic spirit of the original. This remade version went on to win several awards, including “Best Polished Amateur Game” at Spain’s Desarrollador_ES event and the Artfutura award from PlayStation Spain.

Plot
Pascual is an Easter egg with a tragic past: his father was devoured by the Easter Bunny, the cruel lord of Easter Country. Driven by revenge, Pascual sets off on a journey filled with bizarre enemies, special powers, and epic boss battles.
Here, the Easter Bunny isn’t cute — he’s the main villain to be defeated.
Gameplay
Easter Avenger features hybrid controls: you move with the keyboard and aim/shoot with the mouse. You play as Pascual and fight your way through 13 levels of the Easter Country, full of traps, strange creatures, and unique mechanics — such as Easter powers that change Pascual’s appearance and grant new abilities like flying or wall-jumping.
Pascual also wields various weapons, like a baseball bat and pistols, which he uses to battle other eggs. The game also features classic platforming sections that require you to jump over pits and avoid obstacles.
Despite its simple visuals, the game has heart — and challenge. The first few minutes might feel a bit unfair, but once you get the hang of it, the experience becomes surprisingly fun.
