KUMASAMA is a contemporary indie horror adventure with a strong emphasis on narrative and atmosphere. Released in 2026 on Steam and developed and published by UNCHIFIREFLY, the game presents itself as a walking simulator, in which events unfold gradually as the player explores the environments and examines objects, without mission markers or time limits.
With an estimated duration of between 10 and 40 minutes, the title relies on psychological tension, free exploration, and suggestive narrative to build its horror experience. Its story follows reports of mysterious bear attacks that begin to appear across the country, until a disturbing presence is perceived in an abandoned factory in the city. A huge brown silhouette is seen lurking in the darkness, suggesting that something colossal and menacing is hiding nearby. Gradually, the nature of this entity—referred to only as “she”—and the irreversible impact this encounter has on the protagonist becomes clear.

Story
Recently, bear attacks have been occurring all over the country.
I saw something about it on the news, but I was sure it had nothing to do with life in my town.
…Or so I thought.
Someone spotted a large brown silhouette lurking in the darkness, at night, in an abandoned factory.
There’s no doubt that something terrifying and enormous is hiding in this town.
…and eventually, I came to understand that the “something” was her.
I think of her—and of the days I can never return to.
